Commissioner
Samuel M. Concilla was confirmed as the Commissioner for the First District of Pennsylvania on June 4, 2001. Commissioner
Concilla was first appointed a member of the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission on May 4, 1993. He served as President
of the Commission from July 1997 to July 1998.
His commitment to preserving Pennsylvania’s natural resources began long ago when at the age of sixteen (16) he
realized his childhood dream was to become a Fish and Boat Commission commissioner.
Commissioner Concilla has been active in many fishing and sportsmen’s clubs over the years. He gives a lot of credit
to his wife and expert business partner, Sharon. If it were not for her, and her respect for his passion for wildlife,
he would not be able to devote the necessary time to be an effective commissioner. Commissioner Concilla has three
(3) sons and four (4) grandchildren.
Commissioner Concilla formerly owned a restaurant and served as a U. S. Coast Guard licensed charter captain. He
also owned and operated fishing and pleasure boats on Lake Erie for over thirty (30) years. He currently is co-owner
of Erie Promotions & Exposition, Inc., which engages in the market research, promotion, and production of consumer
sport shows. |
