FISHING

Long Pond is home to walleye, yellow perch, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, bluegill, pumpkinseed, black crappie, and brown and yellow bullhead. The mainstay of the fishery is comprised of largemouth bass, yellow perch, bluegill and pumpkinseed. Alewife are the chief forage species.

Long Pond has traditionally been stocked by the Commission (November-December) for winter fishing.

Statewide regulations for Commonwealth Inland Waters apply for all species of fish.

BOATING

Boating with unlimited horsepower is permitted at Long Pond. There is a launch ramp and associated parking facilities.The following special boating regulations are in place:

• Water skiing is permitted from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays and from 10 a.m. until sunset on weekdays other than holidays.
• The operation of boats using more than one water ski tow rope or towing more than two skiers is prohibited.
• The speed of boats is limited to slow no wake from sunset until sunrise.

Un-powered boats may be moored at the lake in accordance with Commission property regulations. To be used at the lake, boats must be registered or have a valid launch permit (permits are issued by the Commission or PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources).
