| White Oak Pond |
 Located
in Wayne County,
White Oak Pond is a 175-acre lake owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the
Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating.
FISHING
White Oak Pond is an infertile water and home to largemouth bass, chain pickerel, bluegill, pumpkinseed, black
crappie, brown and yellow bullhead, and yellow perch. The mainstay of the fishery is comprised of bluegill,
pumpkinseed, and brown and yellow bullhead. Golden shiner are the only forage species. The average and
maximum depths of the pond are 6.7 and 11.5 feet, respectively. All species
of fish are managed under statewide
regulations for Commonwealth Inland Waters.
BOATING
Boating at White Oak is limited to boats powered by electric motors and un-powered boats. There is a launch ramp
and associated parking facilities.
Un-powered boats may be moored at the lake in accordance with Commission
property regulations. To be used at the lake, boats must be registered or
have a valid launch permit (permits are issued by the Commission or
PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources). |
