FISHING

Big Bass Regulations for largemouth bass were implemented in 2000. Lower Woods is also part of the Brood Stock Lakes Program. All other species of fish are managed under Commonwealth Inland Waters regulations.

Lower Woods Pond is stocked with walleye fingerlings. It also offers a nice panfish fishery focusing primarily on bluegills. Alewife are the main forage species in the lake.

BOATING

Boating at Lower Woods Pond is limited to boats powered by electric motors and un-powered boats. There is a surfaced launch ramp and associated parking facilities.

Un-powered boats may be moored at the lake in accordance with Commission property regulations. To be used at the lake, boats must be registered or have a valid launch permit (permits are issued by the Commission or PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources).
