Many confuse juvenile ratsnakes and eastern milksnakes – the patterning is somewhat similar on the body, but check out the head and eyes – they are very different on the eastern ratsnake vs. the milksnake. Eastern ratsnake has long/oblong head with light features and greyish eyes. The milksnake has more red on the head, a light “y” on the back of the head, and red eyes.
